Loving God and our neighbours by publicly sharing the Gospel with passion and integrity

Who is the Morden Christian Programs Committee?

OUR HISTORY
In the early 80's a small group of dedicated Christian men began meeting weekly in a local restaurant to pray for revival and spiritual awakening in our community and to mentor each other in their faith. A committee was formed known as Morden Christian Programs Committee. MCPC is a non-profit, interdenominational, charitable organization. Its mission statement is "Loving God and our neighbours by publicly sharing the Gospel with passion and integrity."  Events such as gospel film nights and evangelistic meetings were planned and held at the Morden Recreation Centre.
In the late 80's, this committee was approached and asked if they would be willing to plan the events for the Corn & Apple Sunday so the festival could be extended from a two day event to three days. After prayer and consideration, it was decided to comply with the request and began doing so in 1990.

From humble beginnings, this group of men has persisted since its inception, witnessing a steady increase in numbers that eventually outgrew their initial restaurant setting. Today, they convene at Rock's Bar and Grill, where every Friday morning at
7:00 am, a gathering of thirty to forty men takes place. During these meetings, they are inspired by guest speakers, offer prayers for the community's needs, and enjoy fellowship over breakfast. Thanks to the restaurant's efficient service, attendees can conveniently participate and be finished before 8:00 a.m.

The Morden Christian Programs Committee has continued to take on the responsibility of organizing and coordinating the Main Stage events for Sunday at the Morden Corn and Apple Festival as well as other events during the weekend. The funds collected through voluntary offerings are used to invite guest speakers and music artists to the festival. Throughout the years they have also donated to various charities, including Morden Youth for Christ, Pembina Counseling Centre, and Pembina Valley Bible Camp. Additionally, every New Year's morning, they host a complimentary prayer breakfast at the Morden Access Event Centre. This event serves as a wonderful way to kickstart the new year and connect with other believers in the community.
